Knitting

I started blogging for knitting. it was a good blog, but no one read it and I quickly lost interest. Then I lost interest in the knitting it self. I recently picked it back up for while I'm watching TV and am too lazy work out. If I don't do something with my hands I tend to end up over eating, which really needs to stop.

I designed a pattern for a hat for my friend Jen a while ago, in November I think. But things got hectic and crazy and I didn't even have time to cast on. So her birthday came and went, Christmas came and went, and she got no gift. I feel bad about it. With all the snow days lately, I had some time to kill, and voila, one week later I have a lovely hat.

It has the elephants on it because she LOVES elephants. it's her thing. and it looks like red white and blue but it's actually red white and dark grey. haha and I know the pop pom is kind of on the obnoxiously large side, but I like it.

It really made me remember how much I like knitting. People might knock it, but it's an awesome way to occupy your hands while you think or wait around. And with what might otherwise have been wasted time, you get a beautiful object that gives you a sense of accomplishment and pride. Not to brag, but I am supppper proud of this hat. it's the most lovely thing I ever knit. It actually fits normal sized people and it's warm. aaaandd it looks professional and all with the finishing I did. yay! I'm kind of obsessed with it right now.

I'm gonna wear it to school before I send it off just to soak in the compliments :P
